A mere 11 months from Heather Langevin and Christopher Wystepek’s Newport engagement, the East Coast natives who met on individual trips to San Francisco left Newport’s Salve Regina University chapel as man and wife. Down to the beach they strolled for their reception at the Easton’s Beach Rotunda, where the newlyweds and their 165 guests relished in the stunning ocean vistas and strolls in the sand. “Easton’s Beach was the perfect fit for us,” says Heather. “We loved the open feel of the Rotunda’s ballroom, it was on the beach, and had the carousel for our guests to enjoy.”

Heather wanted a fun-loving and creative wedding to reflect each of their personalities, so guests let loose in a photo-booth with a red-velvet backdrop and a prop box of boas, masks, parasols and top hats, while groomsmen joked about their personalized bobblehead gifts. The crafty couple made their own table numbers and place cards, using photographs taken of them at different Newport locations. Tall vases of cherry blossom branches with pink rose petals accented tables and glowed as the sun set. “The venue has really high ceilings, so we chose cherry blossom branches for our centerpieces which were in season and complemented the space,” says Heather. “Our florist also put a small light on each table to illuminate the branches. It was gorgeous.”

After the couple danced to “You Make Me Smile” by Uncle Kracker, they embarked on a mini road trip, attending another major league ballpark and visiting Seattle, Washington for the first time. They returned home to Massachusetts after checking baseball field #18 and state #29 off their travel to-do lists.
