Marissa & Kyle: December Diary Entry
December 2017
Save The Date
Thanks to Park Printers, our Save the Dates came out absolutely amazing. Its a family owned shop run by Kyle’s father, Peter Sawaia, and uncle, Mark Sawaia, in Pawtucket, RI. I simply described my vision and they ran with it! I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
We sent them out mid-November, six months ahead of our big day. I felt that was enough time in advance without it being “too soon.”
Flowers
We heard from friends and relatives that Golden Gate Studios was the way to go for floral arrangements, and after seeing that they dress Belle Mer quite often, we decided to have a meeting. Before we went, Kyle and I knew literally nothing about flowers. What I did know is that I wanted lanterns, lanterns and more lanterns.
We went in with open minds and Jay Lane, the owner, explained everything. He drew up the entire plan in right in front of us and after a few tweaks, it was perfect.
My bridal bouquet will consist of white Peonies, blush O’Hara garden roses, white Ranunuclus, Hydrangea and Sweetpea, accented and edged with Dusty Miller and silver Bruins. It’s a dream! In addition there will be 12 tables with 3 different centerpiece designs which incorporate the lanterns. Every table will be accented with driftwood, white pencil starfish and scallop shells.
Wedding Bands
Providence Diamond Company was very patient with me during the ring selection process. At first I was trying to match one ring with my engagement ring. I couldn’t find a combination I liked, so I tried two of the same bands together in addition to my engagement ring, creating something completely unique and fun! I’m thrilled with my choice, and can’t wait to wear it. Wedding band shopping was easier for Kyle than myself and we were able to pick out his ring, a modern black setting, in about 5 minutes.
What’s next?
We have our dinner and cake tasting coming up at Belle Mer!
Stay tuned each month for Marissa & Kyle’s adventures in wedding planning!
