Alison & Alex
“What better place than Fort Adams? It’s the best view in town.”

After meeting for the first time on the steps of their apartment building in Boston, Alison White, who hails from Wayland, MA, and North Providence, RI-born Alex Asermely not only discovered that they had been neighbors for years, but they were completely perfect for each other. About four and a half years later on a cozy Christmas morning, Alex surprised Alison with an unexpected present under the tree. At first she put it to the side until he said, “Um, you might want to open that one.” Before she knew it he was down on one knee.
A Catered Clambake
What do you get when you have a clambake at Fort Adams State Park? Fresh lobsters, steamers, and quahog chowder with a view – a true New England experience their friends and family will never forget.
In Sickness And In Health
Alison and Alex have been through good and bad together, and it has made their relationship even stronger. Although Alison was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure, her brother and Man of Honor will be donating his kidney to her later this year. “He’s my rock and has been there, and continues to be there for me through the most trying time of my life,” says the bride of her groom.
Making History Happen
Fort Adams is full of its own history dating back to the late 1700s as the protector of Aquidneck Island, but the Asermelys chose to make their own history happen there because of its stunning sunset views. “You’re directly under the bridge and the sunset is amazing!” says the bride.
Where Are They Now
After honeymooning around Italy, the happy couple settled back into their home in Warwick, RI where Alison in human resources at Ocean State Job Lot and Alex is managing attorney at Bendett & McHugh.
