Wind swept hair, the setting sun and a sparkling diamond ring that conspired with the stars overhead… it is the stuff that dreams are made of. What began as a morning filled with anticipation and preparation for what was to be an editorial photo shoot, turned into a sunset of ocean sprayed kisses and the promise of unity between two souls. This was the proposal and the first chapter of Deanna and David’s wedding story. The couple had met at The Mews tavern in Wakefield during the 2014 UCONN vs Kentucky championship game. “Little did I know he had played for the UCONN basketball team, so for him to meet me on a night like that is priceless!”

Theme

Soft elegance and femininity with a tailored edge throughout the couple’s wedding details conveyed an air of romance and timeless tradition. The color palette of creamy whites, soft gray and powdery pinks flowed from the bridesmaids’ rose hued lace dresses to the centerpieces that graced the tables.

Two Looks

For the ceremony, Deanna donned a Justin Alexander embroidered chiffon ball gown with crystal encrusted portrait neckline. For her second look, she emerged in a stunning satin sheath with a Swarovski dipped open back and heavily beaded organza belt.

Fine Details

The classically designed bridal bouquet was a monochromatic composition of hydrangea, white garden roses and sumptuous peonies, presented within a crystal collar. The groom wore a simple yet striking single rose boutonniere complementing his bride, while the ladies’ nosegays featured soft pink roses and fluttering ribbon. After the salutes and champagne toasts came the cakes – hers a decadent trio of Kahlua, carrot and tiramisu, his, a manly Guinness chocolate stout with hints of bacon and peanut butter.

Where Are They Now

The Salve Regina University graduate has her Ph.D. in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences and now is a Post-Doctoral Scholar at Tufts University. David is a finish carpenter, which according to Deanna “is a good thing because we sang karaoke on our second date and David would not make it as a singer.” They live in Canton, Massachusetts.
