Sarah & Earl

“The best part of our wedding was having everyone that’s important to us all together in our favorite place, Newport!”

Sarah Riczko & Earl Evans on July 25, 2015

Earl Evans had his eye on Sarah Riczko since their time at Salve Regina University. Earl explains that he was known for hosting house parties and had seen Sarah several times at the fetes. “I remember her. She remembers my house,” jokes the groom. “But she doesn’t remember me.” Although they casually crossed paths several times during matriculation, it wasn’t until they both graduated that they became a couple. Seven years into their relationship, the couple awoke one Saturday morning in November 2014 to “take a nice drive and go fishing.” After stopping at Lloyd’s Beach in Little Compton, perfectly planned during low tide, they walked out to the tip, where Earl dropped to one knee and pulled a ring out of his fishing bag. The new bride-to-be had always dreamed of having a reception at Ochre Court after an intimate ceremony at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, officiated by her childhood priest, Father Dan Murphy. And she got just that! –PL

Wedding Theme

“Simple yet elegant” set the tone for a stately mid-summer wedding, following a traditional color scheme of blue, black and white. The bridesmaids wore knee-length, midnight blue, halter-top cocktail dresses and held bouquets of white hydrangeas tied with matching blue satin ribbon. The groomsmen donned black peak-lapel tuxedos topped with smart black bow ties and white calla lily boutonnières.

Bridal Gown

Sarah walked the isle holding a bridal bouquet of mixed all-white roses and hydrangeas, hand-tied with ivory ribbon from her dress, a refreshingly graceful Lian Carlo form fitting, open back, ivory lace gown with capped sleeves and mermaid train.

Gifts

The groom presented his wedding party with personalized needlepoint flasks by Smathers and Branson, while the bride adorned her maids with monogrammed linen shirts with accompanying beach-themed clutches.

Where They Are Now

After a Caribbean honeymoon in Antigua, the new Mr. and Mrs. Evans returned to Newport, where Sarah is a Teacher at Shining Star Preschool in Middletown and Earl is the proprietor of Paramount Auto Group.
